Awards/Ratings
Rated ~95 points in retailer/critic notes for the 2017 Molino Real
Tasting Note
Lusciously sweet with candied citrus, honey, dried stone fruit, and marmalade notes; musky floral lift, hints of bay leaf and condensed milk, roasted/treacle nuances from sun exposure, balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, silky finish.
Food Pairing
Western: fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée, honeyed pastries, blue/aged cheeses, foie gras; Asian: Thai desserts, mango sticky rice, spicy/savory Thai or Szechuan dishes (sweetness balances heat), and rich Chinese desserts.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Moscatel grapes are sun-dried on reed mats (asoleo), pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts in small (225L) French oak barrels, and aged ~20 months before bottling. All sugar comes from grape concentration.
Vineyard Info
Produced by Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez from old bush-trained Moscatel vines on steep, slate/ schist slopes around Cómpeta (Axarquía), grown at 350–1,000m on terraced sites; low yields and artisanal harvest.
Delivery is typically completed within 5–7 business days from the date payment is received.
