Tasting Note

Blackberry and black cherry core with violet florals, cracked black pepper, olive/tapenade and light graphite. Silky tannins, spicy mid-palate and a fresh, slightly saline finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, grilled ribeye, charcuterie, cassoulet, aged Tomme or Comté. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, Sichuan pepper beef, teriyaki duck, yakitori and mushroom stir-fries.


Production Method

Partial destemming (80–100%), indigenous-yeast fermentations, 18–21 day maceration in temperature-controlled stainless vats; élevage ~12 months in used oak/barriques.

Family domaine of Michel & Stéphane Ogier; Stéphane expanded holdings after 1997. Vines (c.20–30 yrs) on decomposed granite slopes of Tupin-Semons near Côte-Rôtie. Viticulture is reasoned/‘lutte raisonnée’.
