Awards/Ratings
available retailer and domaine tasting notes praise its elegance and ageing potential
Tasting Note
Perfumed red: cherry, raspberry and violet aromas with hints of spice and earth. Silky palate of red fruit, plum, light tobacco and mineral notes; fine tannins and integrated oak lead to a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast beef, boeuf bourguignon, lamb, duck, roasted mushrooms, aged cheeses (Comté). Asian: Peking duck, char siu, beef bulgogi, soy-glazed salmon, mushroom ramen.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Pinot Noir, mostly destemmed; fermentations often with indigenous yeasts; aged ~14–18 months in French oak (portion new), lightly filtered and bottled at the domaine.
Vineyard Info
Family-owned Domaine Michel Noëllat (≈23–27 ha) in Vosne-Romanée; six generations with current stewards Sébastien and Sophie Noëllat. Vines average 60–70 years; blends tradition with modern cellar techniques.
