Tasting Note
Lusciously sweet with honeyed apricot, dried stone fruit, marmalade and lemon curd, lifted by vivid citrus acidity and slatey minerality. Silky, syrupy texture with a persistent, long, candied-fruit finish.
Food Pairing
Foie gras, blue cheeses (Roquefort), almond tart, crème brûlée; Asian: mango sticky rice, ginger- and star-anise–spiced duck, sweet-savory Chinese mooncakes, spicy Thai curry (moderately spicy).
Production Method
Hand-harvested, individually selected botrytised/overripe grapes (Trockenbeerenauslese), gentle pressing and slow fermentation to retain residual sugar; bottled in small formats (often 0.375L).
Vineyard Info
Made by Weingut Max Ferd. Richter of Mülheim (Mosel), a family producer renowned for Riesling site-expressions from parcels including Graacher Domprobst and Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Producer markets several noble-sweet bottlings.
