Tasting Note
Fresh, floral Nebbiolo: red cherry, raspberry, orange peel, violets, mint and wild fennel, light spice and balsamic notes; medium body, bright acidity, soft tannins and an elegant, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Roast lamb, beef, porcini mushroom pasta, aged cheeses; Asian pairings: Peking duck, hoisin-glazed pork, beef bulgogi, miso aubergine, shiitake mushroom stir-fries.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Nebbiolo; stainless-steel fermentation, full malolactic; aged 13–14 months in 500L French oak tonneaux, then bottle-aged. Small-batch production.
Vineyard Info
Family-run Mauro Molino, founded 1982 in La Morra; second-generation Matteo and Martina launched the Giacosa Barbaresco project from a 1.5 ha MGA in Treiso (25–45yo vines). Debut vintage 2022; very limited production (~2,084–2,100 bottles).
