Tasting Note

Bright cherry and plum, red berries, dried herbs and sweet spice with subtle balsamic and earthy tones; medium–full body, lively acidity, fine ripe tannins and a savory, persistent finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled steak, roast lamb, tomato‑based pasta (ragù), aged pecorino and charcuterie. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Chinese char siu or spicy Sichuan lamb, Japanese yakitori (tare) and yakisoba.


Production Method

Hand‑harvested Sangiovese; fermented in stainless steel, aged 6–7 months in Allier oak (54 hl) barrels, followed by brief bottle ageing; estate moving toward organic practices.

Founded 1975; estate in Castelnuovo dell’Abate (Montalcino). Owned by the Illy family since 2008; long focus on Sangiovese and terroir‑driven wines.
