Awards/Ratings
TerroirSense review: 93 points (2016); Tasting notes and vinification details corroborated by multiple merchant and winery sources
Tasting Note
Deep golden; intense aromas of apricot, peach jam, orange blossom, honey and candied pineapple. Dense, silky palate of peach and apricot nectar, sweet spice and orange marmalade; bright acidity balances sugar, leaving a long, clean finish.
Food Pairing
Western: foie gras or liver pâté, fruit tarts (apricot/peach), cantucci, aged blue cheeses (Roquefort/Gorgonzola), dark chocolate. Asian: mango sticky rice, mooncakes, sesame balls, miso-glazed dishes, spiced desserts or sweet-savory dim sum.
Production Method
Late-harvest, partially botrytized grapes with appassimento (hanging/drying). Slow fermentation of concentrated must; aged ~24 months in barriques/tonneaux, followed by ~12 months bottle aging.
