Tasting Note

Golden amber with dark copper highlights. Spicy black and pink pepper, dried figs, red fruit compote, walnut, beeswax and sandalwood; rounded, rich palate with a long silken finish.

Western: dark chocolate, roasted nuts, blue cheese, duck confit, foie gras, aged cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, braised pork belly (red-cooked), mooncakes, miso-glazed fish, seared wagyu or teriyaki-style dishes.


Production Method

Double distillation of clear, sediment-free white wine (predominantly Ugni Blanc); aged in fine-grained French (Tronçais) oak up to ≈35 years, then expertly blended to balance Grande Champagne power and Borderies elegance.

Maison Martell, founded 1715 by Jean Martell, is one of the oldest great Cognac houses; now part of Pernod Ricard, known for sourcing Grande Champagne and Borderies eaux-de-vie and using Tronçais oak.
