Perfumed violets and blackcurrant on the nose; rich black-fruit, cedar, tobacco and licorice on the palate. Silky, opulent texture with velvety tannins, concentrated mid-palate and an extremely long, layered finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, filet mignon, beef Wellington, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ short ribs, soy-braised beef, mushroom-based hot pot dishes.
Production Method
Traditional Left Bank vinification: parcel selection, fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, and élevage 12–18 months in French oak (high % new), followed by extended bottle aging.
