Awards/Ratings
Wine Spectator ~90; Jancis Robinson ~18/20; Michael Broadbent favorable; Robert Parker noted it as one of the stronger Margauxs of the period (estate tasting notes)
Tasting Note
Mature Margaux: cedar, truffle, plum and dried berry aromas with minty, tobacco and smoky tertiary notes. Medium-bodied, fine dusty tannins, softened palate and a lingering cedar-tobacco finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roasted lamb, beef tournedos, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ short ribs, braised beef rendang, mushroom hot-pot.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Bordeaux blend; traditional fermentation in oak vats followed by c.18–24 months ageing in oak barrels; long bottle ageing developed tertiary character.
