Tasting Note
Deep magenta hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry and blackberry with vanillin oak. Palate of cassis, plum and spice with minty lift; plush Shiraz softness balanced by Cabernet structure, fine silky tannins and a long savoury finish.
Food Pairing
Roasted lamb, grilled steak, slow-cooked brisket, sausages and charred vegetables; Asian: Korean BBQ (galbi), char siu, Chinese braised beef, Malaysian beef rendang, spicy noodle dishes with rich sauces.
Production Method
Parcels fermented in small static fermenters, finished and matured in new French oak barrels; barrel-aged ~18 months before selection and blending.
Vineyard Info
Family-owned Majella on Coonawarra’s terra rossa; Lynn family vineyards established 1968. Winemaker Bruce Gregory (with Michael Marcus) oversees estate-grown fruit from ~60 ha.
