Tasting Note
Full-bodied Cabernet with black cherry, raspberry and blackberry layered over black fig, dusty chocolate and espresso; anise and toasted oak lead to a lingering vanilla-spice finish with firm, integrated tannins.

Western: grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef short ribs, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (galbi/bulgogi), Peking duck, Sichuan-style beef, miso-glazed aubergine. Also pairs well with hearty stews and mushroom dishes.

Handcrafted from 100% Monte Rosso fruit; traditional fermentation with extended maceration, then aged in French and American oak (typically 2+ years in barrel) before additional bottle aging.

Louis M. Martini (est. 1933) purchased Monte Rosso in 1938; vineyard sits at 1,100–1,300 ft on volcanic red hill loam and produces high-acid, ageworthy fruit; property later acquired by E. & J. Gallo in 2002.
