Awards/Ratings
Neal Martin (Vinous) ~89; Jasper Morris MW (InsideBurgundy) 87-90; listed by merchants with similar praise noting vintage challenges (low yields, lean 2021)
Tasting Note
Aromatic Gamay of black cherry, kirsch and cassis with violet and orange-peel lift. Medium-bodied, fresh acidity, fleshy yet fine tannins and a mineral, slightly austere finish (notably lean in 2021).
Food Pairing
Western: roast duck, magret, pork belly, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, aged Tomme cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (Cantonese BBQ pork), Korean BBQ, teriyaki salmon, mushroom ramen.
Production Method
Hand-harvested old-vine Gamay, mainly destemmed; short cold soak, gentle extraction (punchdowns/pumpovers). Fermented in concrete/steel, aged ~9–12 months in concrete and neutral oak with minimal new oak.
