Tasting Note

Medium-bodied Saint-Julien: blackcurrant and blackberry fruit with cedar, tobacco and floral notes; bright acidity, polished fine tannins and a long, gently spiced finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, grilled ribeye/steak, venison, beef bourguignon, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), braised beef hotpot, Sichuan-style beef dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, plot vinified; fermented in large oak/temperature-controlled vats, malolactic conversion, then aged c.12–18 months in French oak (c.50–60% new).

Family-owned Barton estate since 1821; ~18 ha in Saint-Julien planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon; classified Troisième Cru (1855).
