Tasting Note

Blackcurrant, blackberry and cassis with violet, cedar, cocoa and subtle truffle/forest-floor notes. Firm, grainy tannins, mint and graphite undertones, racy acidity and a long, mineral-tinged finish.

Roast or grilled beef, lamb, venison, duck confit, aged cheeses; Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu, beef bulgogi, miso-braised short ribs, soy/miso glazed dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, destemmed; fermented in stainless and concrete vats with careful extraction; matured ~16–18 months in about 50–55% new French oak.

Château Lagrange, 1855 Classified Third Growth in Saint-Julien. Owned by Suntory (since 1983), large estate (~100–120 ha) producing a classic left-bank, Cabernet-led grand vin.
