Selected scores: Lobenberg 97+/100; Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) ~95/100; James Suckling 95/100
Tasting Note
Intense citrus and stone-fruit aromatics (kumquat, mandarin, orange blossom) with mineral, chalky undertones. Palate shows bright acidity, bitter-citrus tension, subtle oak spice and a saline, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled scallops, roasted chicken, shellfish paella, goat cheese. Asian: tempura prawns, sushi (fatty fish), citrusy ceviche, Korean BBQ pork (lighter cuts).
Production Method
Organic/biodiverse bush vines; hand-harvested. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts; aged ~10 months in 225–500L barrels (used tonneaux). Low-production, single-vineyard field blend.
Vineyard Info
Ladeiras do Xil (Telmo Rodríguez & Pablo Eguzkiza) restore ancient terraces in Valdeorras; small-production, organically farmed plots focusing on indigenous varieties and terroir-driven wines.
