Ripe white peach, nectarine and preserved lemon with white flowers, crushed shells and saline minerality. Creamy, toasted-nut mid-palate from gentle oak, bright acidity and a long, electric finish.

Food Pairing

Western: roast chicken, pork loin with apples, cream-based pasta, butter-poached lobster. Asian: miso-glazed cod, tempura prawns, sushi (salmon or fatty tuna), mild coconut-based Thai dishes.

Production Method

Hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed; indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak (100% barrel fermentation, ~25% new); 100% malolactic conversion; 11 months on lees in barrel.

Vineyard Info

Single-vineyard fruit from Tim & Angela Coddington’s vines (planted c.1990). Designated Coddington single-vineyard since 2006; low yields and old vines produce concentrated, Meursault-like Chardonnay for Kumeu River.
