Tasting Note
Lush honeyed layers of orange marmalade, dried apricot and candied peel, with sandalwood spice, toasted nuts and floral perfume. Viscous and full-bodied yet kept lively by bright citrus acidity; long, nutty, slightly resinous finish.
Food Pairing
Foie gras, crème brûlée, blue cheese, almond biscotti; roasted or hoisin duck, ginger-orange glazed salmon, mango sticky rice, sesame prawn toast.
Production Method
Late-harvest/raisined Muscat grapes harvested in multiple passes, partially fermented to retain sweetness, then aged in French oak, acacia and large foudres for several years before blending and bottling.
Vineyard Info
Klein Constantia, a historic Constantia estate, revived the legendary Vin de Constance; produces limited quantities of naturally sweet Muscat wines celebrated since the 18th century.
