Awards/Ratings
Falstaff 92 (tasting 2024, 2018 vintage). Robert Parker / Wine Advocate scores around 90+ for Ramnista vintages; wine. com lists 90 (2018). Historical: Gold at London Wine Fair (1998) and multiple international 90+ ratings
Tasting Note
Aromatically complex: bright cherries, sour cherry, plums, rose and tomato-leaf herbaceousness, with spice, vanilla and subtle oak. Velvety yet firm tannins, lively acidity and a long, savory finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled/roast lamb, steak, braised beef, game, moussaka, aged cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), spicy Szechuan beef, umami mushroom stir-fries. (Pairs particularly well with rich red meats and game).
Production Method
Hand-harvested, conveyor sorting and cold pre-fermentation soak, fermented in large French-oak wooden vats with pigeage. Aged ~16 months (80% in 225L, 20% in 500L) in French and American oak, then ~12 months bottle aging.
Vineyard Info
