Tasting Note

Dense, full-bodied Cabernet with blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, cedar, graphite, violets and truffle. Very concentrated, with polished yet powerful, tightly-grained tannins and an enduring, savory finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef bourguignon, aged cheddar; Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), soy-braised short ribs, char siu, beef rendang.


Production Method

Small-lot fermentations with extended maceration; matured predominantly in new French oak (approx. 24–30 months); bottled unfined and unfiltered. Native-yeast fermentations and careful barrel selection employed.

Founded by Bill Harlan in 1984; estate sits on 240 acres in western Oakville with ~40 acres planted. Harlan Estate aims for a ‘California first-growth’ style; limited production (~1,800–2,200 cases) and long cellar potential.
