Tasting Note

Quince, grilled pear, citrus, acacia honey, beeswax and toasted spice. Rich, full-bodied and creamy with bright acidity, mineral salinity and a long, toasty finish.


Food Pairing

Western: lobster, scallops, roast chicken with cream, pork belly, aged Comté, blue cheeses. Asian: miso-glazed fish, Thai green curry, Peking duck, spicy Szechuan pork.


Production Method

Hand-harvested Marsanne/Roussanne. Temperature-controlled fermentation and extended élevage (~24 months) in second-fill oak barrels; malolactic fermentation commonly completed.

Maison E. Guigal (founded 1946), benchmark Northern Rhône producer. Fruit from old Hermitage vines (30–90 years); small, low-yield production focused on quality.
