Tasting Note
Bright raspberry and black cherry with rose petal, peppery spice, olive/caper brine and nutmeg. Gravelly mineral core, subtle oak, fine ferruginous tannins and a long savory finish.

Food Pairing
Western: grilled lamb, roast beef, braised short ribs, charred mushroom, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean bulgogi, char siu pork, Sichuan beef, grilled miso aubergine, spicy Thai basil beef.

Production Method
Hand-harvested Syrah with small Viognier co-ferment and Mourvèdre; ~5% whole-bunch inclusion; matured 14 months in 3,500L French oak foudre and some 500L puncheons; organically farmed.

Frankland Estate, founded 1988 by Judi Cullam and Barrie Smith. Isolation Ridge is a single-vineyard site, organically certified since 2009; winemakers Hunter Smith and Brian Kent.
