Tasting Note
Deep black-fruit core of blackberry and plum with violets, cedar, tobacco, leather and sweet spice. Full-bodied, structured tannins, bright acidity and a very long, savory finish.

Food Pairing
Roasted or braised red meats, game, rich pasta and mushroom risotto; aged cheeses and charcuterie. Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu pork, Korean BBQ, spicy Sichuan beef, hoisin-glazed dishes.

Production Method
Hand-harvested; separate vinification of Merlot and Sangiovese, controlled-temperature fermentation, extended maceration; aged ~18 months in small French oak (high % new), then finished in concrete before bottling.

Castello di Fonterutoli (Mazzei family) historic estate in Castellina in Chianti. Siepi first produced 1992 as the estate’s top IGT blend from the Siepi vineyard.
