Tasting Note

Medium-bodied with red and black cherry, cedar, tobacco, leather and black truffle notes; earth and tertiary cigar/cedar aromas, fine acidity and polished, mature tannins with a long, savory finish.

Western: roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck confit, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (Cantonese roast pork), soy-braised beef, Korean BBQ, umami mushroom stir-fries.


Production Method

Parcel-by-parcel vinification with temperature-controlled vats and open-top vats; hand-harvested grapes, malolactic fermentation, élevage in French oak (significant new oak) for ~14–18 months before bottling.

Owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892; 41 ha of vines on deep Günzian gravel over blue clay, notable for a Cabernet-dominant Right Bank style and long history dating back centuries.
