Tasting Note

Ripe black and red fruits (cassis, black cherry), tobacco, chocolate, subtle mint and spice; medium-bodied, creamy texture, soft fine tannins and a fresh, lingering finish.


Food Pairing

Roasted lamb, beef, duck, mushroom risotto; Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ short ribs, braised beef with soy and star anise.


Production Method

Hand-harvested and parcel-sorted; vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats with ~3-week maceration; aged about 18 months in French oak barrels. Second-wine vinification follows Château Branaire-Ducru’s protocols.


Vineyard Info

Second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru (Classified 4th Cru 1855); created in the 1990s from younger plots on gravel-siliceous Quaternary soils. Estate practices include HVE3 certification.
