Tasting Note
Dense, inky Syrah showing dark/roasted berries, violet florals, cracked black pepper, smoked meat and cedar; polished ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long, mineral-tinged finish.

Western: grilled/BBQ beef, roast lamb, venison, braised short ribs; Asian: Korean BBQ (galbi), char siu, spicy Sichuan beef, teriyaki beef skewers, lamb kebabs.
Production Method
Fruit chilled overnight; mostly destemmed with one whole-bunch vat; 12–21 days skin contact; pressed and matured ~18 months in French oak; bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry River Estate, founded 1979 by Dr Neil and Dawn McCallum in Martinborough. Lovat Vineyard planted 1992 (≈1.7 ha Syrah). Boutique, low-yielding site producing ageworthy Syrah.
