Tasting Note
Perfumed and exotic: lychee, rose, orange marmalade, candied apricot, grilled pineapple and nashi pear with cumin/fenugreek spice. Silky, oily texture, medium–full body, slightly off-dry and very long, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Spicy Asian curries (Thai green curry, Indian dishes), Szechuan or Korean spicy dishes; roast pork belly, Peking duck, glazed ham, creamy cheeses (Munster, blue cheese), Middle Eastern mezze and aromatic tagines.
Production Method
Multiple staged picks and late-April harvest; gentle pressing, cool fermentation with textural lees influence and restrained oak/ageing to preserve aromatics; bottled relatively early for freshness (off-dry style).
Vineyard Info
Dry River established 1979 by Dr Neil & Dawn McCallum; Lovat block planted 1992 (warm, rocky site). Winery continues small-scale, low-yield, dry-farmed practices; ownership/stewardship changes noted in 2022.
