Tasting Note

Concentrated red and black cherry, Morello cherry, forest‑floor and subtle spice. Silky, tender tannins, mineral lift and a precise, lingering, slightly peppery finish (medium‑full body).

Western: roast duck, coq au vin, chapon farci with ceps, beef bourguignon, medium‑aged cheeses. Asian: Peking/roast duck, char siu or hoisin pork, miso‑glazed salmon, shiitake/mushroom soba or ramen.


Production Method

Hand‑harvested Pinot Noir; short cold soak, native yeast fermentation with gentle pigeage/remontage; partial whole‑cluster inclusion (c.15–30%); élevage in French oak for ~16–18 months with a substantial portion of new barrels (40–60% reported for some vintages).

Drouhin‑Laroze, family estate founded 1850 run by Nicolas & Caroline Drouhin. Their Clos‑Prieur parcel is 0.30 ha (planted 1954, partly replanted 2003), east‑facing on limestone with entrocs at ~280m.
