Perfumed northern Rhône Syrah: violets, black cherry, black pepper, smoked meat and garrigue. Silky texture, bright acidity, olive and plum notes with fine tannins and a savory, persistent finish.
Food Pairing
Roasted lamb, grilled steak, duck confit, braised short ribs; Asian pairings: Korean BBQ, char siu, spicy Sichuan beef, miso-glazed eggplant, teriyaki chicken.
Production Method
Hand-harvested grapes from granitic slopes; organic/biodynamic farming, indigenous-yeast fermentation, minimal-intervention natural winemaking with little or no added sulfur; short élevage in neutral vessels.
Vineyard Info
Small family domaine of Martine & Christian Rouchier in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols. Converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture in the 2010s; tiny production focused on natural, terroir-driven wines.
