Tasting Note

Flinty struck‑match and grapefruit, lemon pith, ripe gooseberry and white blossom; lees-driven creaminess, toasted hazelnut and chalky saline minerality, precise acidity and a long, focused finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled/roasted salmon, seared scallops, roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, oysters. Asian: sashimi/sushi, miso-glazed fish, Thai green curry, Vietnamese herb salads, soy‑ginger seared tuna.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed; indigenous (wild) yeast fermentation; ~18 months in older French oak barrels on lees; bottled without fining, minimal filtration.

Founded by Ivan Sutherland and James Healy; estate in the Southern Valleys of Marlborough, certified organic; Section 94 is a single‑vineyard parcel (vines planted c.1992) producing low-yield, old‑vine fruit.
