Tasting Note
Perfumed Pinot Noir: Morello cherry, violet and blackcurrant with sandalwood, vanilla and sweet spice over a stony minerality. Bracing acidity, fine tight tannins, midpalate intensity and a persistent, licorice-tinged finish.
Food Pairing
Roasted rack of lamb, game stew, mushroom-roasted poultry, Époisses or Munster; Asian: Peking duck, hoisin or plum-glazed duck, char siu pork, miso-grilled salmon or shiitake stir-fries.
Production Method
Organic since 1997 and biodynamic since 2001. Hand-harvested, cold pre-fermentation maceration, open-vat fermentation with indigenous yeasts; aged ~16 months in oak (≈30% new).
Vineyard Info
Monopole Clos du Prieuré (≈0.98–1.00 ha) east-facing walled parcel adjacent to Clos de Vougeot. Domaine de la Vougeraie (est. 1999) farms organically/biodynamically with massal selection vines.
