Additional retailer/critic notes and technical details from Domaine and merchants
Tasting Note
Medium-bodied Pinot Noir: ripe cherry, pomegranate and boysenberry with forest-floor, earthy and spicy notes. Dusty tannins, chalky minerality and lively acidity lead to a savory, slightly chalky finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, duck breast, mushroom risotto, charcuterie and aged soft cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, miso-grilled black cod, teriyaki salmon, Korean bulgogi, and dishes with mild five-spice or shiitake mushrooms.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; organic/biodynamic viticulture; native yeasts; ~30% whole-cluster fermentation; aged in French oak (portion new) for ~12–16 months.
Vineyard Info
Domaine de la Vougeraie (created 1999 by the Boisset family) farms many Côte d’Or parcels biodynamically and organically, focusing on terroir expression across 40+ ha. Les Marconnets sits on the Beaune side of the Savigny slope.
