Tasting Note
Concentrated red and black cherry, raspberry and rose petal with blood-orange, incense, smoky and mineral notes. Dense yet elegant with fine ripe tannins, lively acidity and extraordinary, persistent finish.

Food Pairing
Roast duck, confit, lamb, beef, mushroom risotto; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ, miso‑glazed fish, shiitake ramen; aged cheeses and earthy mushroom dishes.

Production Method
Organically farmed (ECOCERT) and biodynamic since 2001; massal selection vines. Fermentation often with 100% whole‑bunches in wooden vats using indigenous yeasts; aged in French oak (estate barrels) with modest new‑oak percentage.

Vineyard Info
Domaine de la Vougeraie owns a 0.735 ha east‑facing parcel in Les Mazoyères planted in 1901–1902 (massal selection, 10,000 vines/ha). The domaine converted to organic farming in 1998 and biodynamics from 2001.
