Deep cassis, black olive and dark chocolate with savory herb and cedar notes; medium–full body, persistent fine-grained tannins and a long, savory finish.

Food Pairing
Western: grilled steak, roast lamb, aged cheddar, beef short ribs. Asian: beef rendang, char siu (Cantonese BBQ pork), Korean BBQ (galbi), spicy Szechuan lamb.

Production Method
Small batches crushed to open headed-down fermenters with foot-treading; basket-pressed, barrel-fermented and aged in old French oak on lees with minimal racking; typically unfiltered/unfined.

Vineyard Info
Family-owned d'Arenberg (founded 1912), long led by Chester Osborn. High Trellis vineyard planted in the late 19th century, trained above knee height and historically highly regarded (Jimmy Watson success).
