Tasting Note
Bright red fruits—raspberry, cranberry and rhubarb—with bramble, sweet florals and a hint of olive/leather. Light-bodied, very bright acidity, gentle tannins and a refreshing, slightly savory finish.
Food Pairing
Roast chicken, turkey, charcuterie, tomato-based pasta and pizza; Asian pairings: grilled pork/char siu, pork belly bao, yakitori, mildly spicy Sichuan dishes, Korean BBQ.
Production Method
Fruit from organic/sustainably farmed North Coast sites; ~25% whole-cluster ferment in concrete; pressed to older French oak, few puncheons and concrete; natural malolactic; light sulfur before bottling.
Vineyard Info
Cruse Wine Co., founded by Michael Cruse (founded 2013) in Petaluma, focuses on small-production North Coast wines and overlooked varieties (Valdiguié, Carignan, Tannat) using minimal-intervention techniques.
