Tasting Note

Ripe red and black cherry, earth, truffle and savory spice with firm, dry tannins. Generous palate, mineral backbone and a long, savory finish (forest floor, leather hints).


Food Pairing

Western: grilled lamb chops, roast beef, beef bourguignon, mushroom risotto, aged Comté. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (BBQ pork), braised pork belly, mushroom-based Chinese or Japanese dishes.


Production Method

Traditional Burgundian vinification with a high proportion of whole-bunch fermentation, natural yeast, and élevage in oak barrels (limited new oak).

Domaine Confuron-Cotétidot, founded 1964 by Jack Confuron in Vosne-Romanée; ~11 ha including Premier and Grand Crus. Now run by Jean-Pierre and Yves Confuron, practicing low-yield, environmentally friendly viticulture.
