Tasting Note
Apricot, quince, honey and saffron with jasmine, pineapple and candied ginger; dense, textured palate, chalky minerality and vibrant acidity leading to an extremely long, refined finish.
Food Pairing
Western: foie gras, blue cheese (Roquefort), fruit tarts, almond cake. Asian: Peking duck, hoisin‑glazed pork, mildly spicy Thai curries, mooncakes or sweet dim sum.
Production Method
Hand‑harvested in multiple botrytised passes, vertical pressing, fermentation and élevage in oak barrels (c.18 months). Strict selection from the Clos Bonneau.
Vineyard Info
Château Closiot (Clos Bonneau), owned/produced by Jean‑Marie Guffens; small 8‑ha Barsac estate planted largely to old Sémillon vines. Acquired/managed by the Guffens family.
