Tasting Note

Fresh, floral and expressive Malbec with blueberry, blackberry, plum and violet, plus subtle spice and leather; medium‑full body, bright acidity, silky tannins and a long savory finish.

Western: grilled steak, roasted lamb, beef empanadas, mushroom pasta, aged cheeses. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), char siu, spicy Sichuan beef, teriyaki beef, yakitori (grilled meats).


Production Method

Cold pre‑fermentation maceration (5 days), ~16 days fermentation, 19–22 days post‑fermentation maceration with indigenous yeasts; aged 12–14 months in French and American oak (1st–3rd use).

Family-owned Bodega Catena Zapata; Nicola (Nicola) Catena planted the first Malbec in Mendoza in 1902. Laura Catena and chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil oversee production.
