Awards/Ratings
Stuart Knox 95 (Real Review); James Halliday Wine Companion 95; Wine Pilot 95. Cellar notes and multiple high scores from critics; cellaring potential ~10–15 years
Tasting Note
Dark garnet with blood orange, cocoa and dark plums. Aromas of dried lavender, spice and smoky-toasty oak. Palate opulent: black cherry, dark soy, forest floor, silky ripe tannins and a persistent cigar-toasted almond finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled lamb, ribeye, Texan BBQ pork ribs, aged cheddar, bresaola. Asian: char siu, Korean BBQ, Szechuan-style beef, soy-braised short ribs, tomato-date tagine.
Production Method
Fruit destemmed and lightly crushed; some lots co-fermented with Viognier. Wild and selected yeasts, punchdowns/pump-overs and delestage; long macerations (33–44 days). Basket-pressed, MLF in French/Hungarian oak and ~19 months barrel aging; bottled unfined.
