Tasting Note

Rye-forward spice (black pepper, cinnamon) with vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and dried fruit; medium-bodied, dry and satiny finish with lingering baking spice and toffee.

Grilled steak, smoked brisket, roasted pork, dark chocolate, pecan pie; Asian pairings: Korean BBQ, char siu, spicy Sichuan dishes, miso-glazed eggplant.


Production Method

High-rye mash bill (approx. 68% corn, 28% rye, 4% malted barley). Fermented, distilled and matured in new charred American oak barrels in Kentucky; blended to house style and bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof).

Founded by Tom Bulleit (modern revival 1987); produced by The Bulleit Distilling Co. (Diageo). New Shelbyville, KY distillery opened 2017; brand built on a frontier-era family recipe.
