Tasting Note
Dense, elegant Cabernet with cassis, blackberry, red currant, violet, graphite and dried herbs. Leather, bay leaf and star anise lift the midpalate; refined tannins and spicy oak lead to a long, savory, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef stew, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), Cantonese roasted duck/char siu, Sichuan beef or hoisin-glazed dishes.
Production Method
Small-lot fermentations with gentle extraction (Pulsair used in cellar), blended from Columbia Valley sites and aged ~18–19 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Vineyard Info
Betz Family Winery (founded by Bob & Cathy Betz in 1997) produces flagship Père de Famille as a Columbia Valley, Bordeaux-style Cabernet showcase; known for small-lot, age-worthy reds.
