Tasting Note

Inky, full-bodied Cabernet with concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, graphite and cedar. Notes of licorice, dark chocolate and menthol, with polished oak and silky, ripe tannins leading to a long, layered finish.

Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), char siu, Peking duck, spicy Sichuan beef.

Production Method

Grapes from estate and selected Napa parcels were fermented and blended; aged ~20 months in ~82% new French oak before bottling. Small-lot vinification and extended élevage for structure and ageability.

Vineyard Info

Beringer, founded in 1876 in Napa Valley, produces the Private Reserve as its flagship Cabernet, blending fruit from estate holdings (notably Howell Mountain) and nearby mountain sites for concentrated premium cuvées.
