Tasting Note

Opaque ruby; concentrated black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant with truffle, graphite and espresso notes. Powerful, velvety texture, firm fine-grained tannins and a long, toasty finish.

Production Method

Hand-harvested; native-yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats; extended maceration (~7 weeks); malolactic in barrel; ~24 months in 100% new French oak; bottled unfined/unfiltered.

Tiny 2–2.5 ha Saint-Émilion Grand Cru acquired by Gérard Perse in 2001; very low yields (~15 hl/ha) and tiny production (~3,500–4,500 bottles). Vines average ~45–50 years; meticulous viticulture under Vignobles Perse.
