Tasting Note

Ripe black cherry and plum with garrigue, leather, truffle and black pepper; concentrated yet fresh, polished tannins, mineral backbone and a long licorice-tinged finish.

Western: roast lamb, steak au poivre, beef short ribs, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (galbi), char siu pork, Sichuan-style braised beef, lamb skewers (kebabs).


Production Method

Certified organic grapes; hand-harvested; varieties vinified separately (oak fermenters for reductive grapes, concrete/enamel tanks for oxidative ones); blended after malolactic fermentation and aged ~12 months in oak foudres.

Owned and run by the Perrin family (Château de Beaucastel); ~110 ha estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with old vines; grows all 13 permitted varieties and follows long-standing organic/biodynamic practices.
