Tasting Note
Silky and elegant with dried apricot, fig, toasted almond, caramel, spice and a touch of smoke; soft rounded texture and a long, fresh finish with mocha and nutty notes.
Food Pairing
Western: crème brûlée, almond tart, mature and blue cheeses, toasted nuts, dark chocolate. Asian: mooncakes, sesame sweets, sticky rice desserts, Chinese red-braised pork (hong shao rou), spiced duck.
Production Method
Blend of five Colheita (very-old tawny) lots from the 1950s–1990s, aged in 300L oak casks in Vila Nova de Gaia, then blended and bottled as a non-vintage very old tawny (fortified with grape spirit).
