Tasting Note
Deep ruby with purple hues. Ripe red and black fruits—black cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant—then undergrowth, vanilla, cinnamon and balsamic mint. Silky, balanced tannins, ripe-spice complexity and a long, elegant finish.

Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, grilled beef, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged Pecorino or Parmigiano. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (BBQ pork), beef bulgogi, rich teriyaki dishes, umami shiitake-based stir-fries.

Production Method
Merlot and Sangiovese vinified separately (Merlot maceration 20–25 days; Sangiovese 8–10 days). Aged in French barriques and 30‑hl wooden vats (Merlot ~24 months). Organic/biodynamic practices; blended after maturation.

Collaboration between Avignonesi (Montepulciano) and Capannelle (Gaiole in Chianti), first produced 1988. Avignonesi focuses on organic/biodynamic viticulture and sustainable practices in Montepulciano.
